I'm Alex Iliescu, the founder of OwnedSignal. I started in marketing in 2014 and have worked in agencies and in-house roles, in Romania and the UK. Most of that time was spent on paid media, content and the mechanics of attention, with real budgets at stake.
Over the years my work moved toward organic growth: podcasts, partnerships, newsletters, search and, more recently, how AI assistants describe companies.
OwnedSignal is where that work now focuses on one kind of client: technical AI and SaaS founders who know far more than the internet currently shows.
What I do now.
I help technical founders make their expertise visible to the people who matter to their business: buyers, partners and hires. In practice that means interviewing founders, researching their buyers and market, writing and publishing founder media, building pages that search engines and AI assistants can use, and setting up distribution the company keeps.
I do the work myself. There are no account managers between you and the person writing in your name. When a job needs a specialist, such as video editing or development, I say so in the proposal.
The longer-term direction is organic growth for technical B2B companies: helping them depend less on rented attention and build search visibility, AI visibility, partnerships and an audience they own. Founder presence is where that starts, because the founder usually holds the knowledge that everything else is built from.
I publish what I learn in Insights, with sources and with the limits of the evidence stated.

Specific beats clever
A real example, a number or a decision explained is worth more than a well-turned line. I would rather publish less than publish something vague under your name.

Evidence before claims
When I cite research, I link it and say who paid for it. When the evidence is thin, I say so. That applies to my own results too.

The process is designed around a few hours a month from you. Everything else is my job.

I have spent years with paid budgets. They work while you pay. I want clients to end up with pages, relationships and an audience that keep working after an engagement ends.
